Alanna's Launchpad
A glacier lake below the Rockies at sunrise, with a red canoe on the water and a giant maple leaf, paper ribbons and a glass orb floating above the rocks.

For Alanna, coast to coast to coast

A little unreasonable. A lot possible.

Websites that launch. Bugs that surrender. Research with receipts. Spreadsheets that turn into stories. Pictures that did not exist this morning. Bring the big idea and watch it take shape.

01 Field guide

Six ways to paddle further than planned.

Pick a trail. Each one ends somewhere real: a thing you can open, share, launch or keep.

02 Mission playground

Choose a mission. Watch it come together.

Illustrative demo

Six scripted scenes that show the shape of the work. Nothing is sent, opened, booked or changed. The cabins are imaginary, the syrup is hypothetical, and the moose is fine.

Illustrative demo Ready

On a keyboard: P pause or resume, Esc cancel, arrow keys switch missions.

A miniature Rockies diorama under a glass cloche: a red cabin, pine trees, a turquoise lake, a red canoe and northern lights.

Concept art from a two line brief.

    03 The ambition dial

    Small brief. Big little world.

Every good idea starts out reasonable. Turn the dial and see how far one sentence can travel.

    What comes back

      04 How it goes

      Three steps. No portage required.

      1. Say it plainly

A sentence, a sketch, a messy spreadsheet, a screenshot of something broken. Whatever you have is the right place to start.

      2. Watch it take shape

Work happens in visible steps with checks along the way. Steer, pause or change your mind whenever you like.

      3. Keep what is good

You get the real thing: a live page, a fixed bug, a cited brief, a finished deck. Then ask for one more unreasonable thing.

      05 Good questions

      Asked politely, answered honestly.

      Is the mission playground real?

It is an illustrative demo. Each mission is a scripted scene that plays out inside your browser. Nothing is sent, fetched, booked or changed, and every name, number and source in it is invented for the example.

So what can actually get made?

Websites and small apps that go live, fixes for software that misbehaves, research briefs with sources you can check, polished reports and decks from raw spreadsheets and documents, original images, and bigger projects where several of those happen at once.

      Why is everything so Canadian?

Because this page was made for Alanna, and big mountains are a good reminder that "reasonable" is optional. Also, the canoe was already in the picture.

Does this page collect anything about me?

No. No forms, no cookies, no tracking, no analytics. It is a static page with two pictures and a little JavaScript for the demos. There is nothing to unsubscribe from, sorry.

How do I start a real mission?

Ask the person who sent you this link. Bring the idea you think is slightly too much. That one is usually the right one.

A little unreasonable. A lot possible.

      Run one more mission
